Execution Ground

Dion Territory
Execution Ground. Several years ago, a revolt broke out among the peasants due to excessive taxes and harsh laws. They refused to work and began to form detachments to overthrow the ruler. Duke Ashton, at that time the ruler of Dion, sent an armed detachment to the peasants, accompanied by the knight Sir Calibus. He was supposed to give the peasants an ultimatum, but due to the fact that Sir Calibus himself came from a peasant family, he went over to the side of the rebels. Therefore, Ashton decided to rectify the situation in a particularly cruel way: he ordered the capture of the rebels and their families and execution of them, which, in fact, he set about. The battles were long and brutal, all prisoners were killed with particular cruelty; Ashton's executioner was the bloodthirsty Guillotine, who destroyed hundreds of lives with his jagged scythe. In the heat of battle, when Ashton's victory was already close, Sir Calibus nevertheless dealt with Guillotine, who was cursed and doomed to eternal wanderings. Calibus himself was captured and executed along with his wife. But before his death, he uttered a terrible curse, after which life on these lands became even worse. The undead began to wander through the former estates and fields - the rebellious corpses of peasants thirsting for revenge. The forest that grew nearby has turned into an eerie place, now inhabited by evil trees and bloodthirsty bats, who are also affected by the curse.
